At Smileworks Orthodontics, we believe early care leads to lasting confidence. That’s why we follow the American Association of Orthodontists’ recommendation for children to receive their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7.
Why age 7? Because it’s the perfect time to spot potential issues—before they become bigger problems. Even though most kids won’t need treatment this young, an early exam helps us monitor growth and development to ensure everything’s on track.

But every child deserves to be evaluated. If no immediate care is needed, we’ll simply keep your child on our Growth Guidance Program—monitoring their smile every 6–12 months at no cost until it’s the right time for treatment.
Our kid-friendly team knows how to make every visit a positive experience. From cozy exam rooms to encouraging high-fives, we make sure your child feels comfortable and excited to care for their smile.
